Excitement is already building. As of this week, registration is open for the 16th edition of the Castelli24h, the 24-hour bike race scheduled for June 10 and 11 in Feltre.
There is space for 100 teams (with a minimum of 8 and a maximum of 12 riders per team) and just 20 individual riders who want to challenge themselves and ride solo for 24 hours. And the “Only One” places are going fast: in two days, 12 have already been taken, leaving just 8 available!
The 24-hour race in Feltre was the first event of its kind in Italy, and it offers a city-center circuit completely closed to traffic. The geography of Feltre allows the organizers to provide a route that features the essence of cycling: a climb, a false flat, turns and a technical descent, a fast straightaway, and a cobbled section that is even slightly uphill at the end.
And while the competition heats up on the circuit, outside the barriers is a 24-hour party for those who are supporting the teams and cheering on their friends, with thousands of colors and many different ways to approach the most spectacular 24-hour race in cycling!
Last year saw an increase in foreign riders interested in participating in the Castelli24h, so in 2016 there will also be a special prize for the foreign team that completes the most laps.
